Your laptop turns the pages. Open vuthis.com on the TV or projector's display computer, connect from your MacBook or Windows laptop and choose the document. There is no app to install and no HDMI cable from your presenting laptop.

This walkthrough uses V U This, a browser-based display tool made by our team. It is useful when the room already has a screen and you want to show the proposal, agenda or slides without changing its cables.

1. Open the browser on the room's screen

On a TV with a usable web browser, open vuthis.com. Leave the connection code visible.

For a projector, open the same page in the browser on the computer already driving it. A room PC, mini PC or connected laptop can supply that browser. You do not need to move the projector's existing cable to your presenting laptop.

The distinction matters: the room's display needs a browser route. The projector does not need to run the browser itself.

2. Connect your MacBook, Surface or Windows laptop

On your own laptop, open vuthis.com/r and enter the code shown on the room's screen. You can use a phone instead by scanning the on-screen QR code.

Both devices need internet access. They do not need to share a Wi-Fi network, which is useful when your laptop uses guest Wi-Fi and the room computer uses the office network.

3. Choose Document and show your PDF

In the controller, select Document, choose the PDF and select Show now. Use Previous and Next to move through the pages while you talk.

The screen shows the selected document rather than a live mirror of your desktop. Your other tabs, messages and notifications stay on your controlling device.

Start with Fit page for slides, diagrams and one-page proposals. Use Fit width for a tall document that needs larger text; Previous and Next move through it a screenful at a time.

Present PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides

Export your presentation as a PDF, then use the same Document steps. In PowerPoint or Keynote, use the PDF export option. In Google Slides, download the presentation as a PDF document.

This workflow presents the exported pages. Before the meeting, open the PDF and check that its text, charts and page order look right. Use the original presentation software when you need its animations or embedded playback.

Use the same setup for photos

For a portfolio, project update or photo slideshow, choose Photos in the controller and select the images. This works well when the room needs to see the finished work rather than the rest of your laptop screen.

For the quickest start, have the PDF or photos ready on your laptop before connecting. Open the first page, check its readability from the back of the room and keep the controller open for page changes.

If the TV has no browser

Use a browser on the computer already connected to the display. A screen being a smart TV does not by itself establish which browser features it supports.

The TV, projector and classroom browser-setup guide on GitHub explains the available routes for home TVs, conference projectors and professional displays. It also separates devices seen in actual sessions from broader equipment setups.

Once the room's browser page is open, the routine is the same: connect, choose the file and show it.

Your laptop holds the controls. You can turn pages, change the view and keep the rest of your desktop on your own screen.

Start by opening vuthis.com on the TV. Open vuthis.com/r on the laptop, enter the display's code and choose the content to show. The laptop does not need an HDMI connection to the display.

A useful route for a meeting-room screen

This workflow is useful when the room needs a proposal, agenda, diagram or set of slides quickly. The TV displays the selected PDF while the controller stays with you.

For a projector, open the display page in its browser or in a browser on the computer already driving it. Your controlling laptop can remain separate.

The quick walkthrough

Open vuthis.com in the TV or projector display browser.

Open vuthis.com/r on your controlling laptop and enter the screen code.

Choose Document and select your PDF.

Tap Show now. Use Previous and Next to turn pages.

Choose Fit page for complete slides or diagrams. Choose Fit width to read a tall document a screenful at a time.

The controller and display both need internet access. They can use different networks, so the route does not depend on arranging shared Wi-Fi pairing.

PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides?

Export the presentation as a PDF first, then follow the Document steps. Keep the exported file on your controlling device before the meeting so it is ready to choose.

A phone or tablet can also act as the controller. Connect by scanning the display's QR code or by entering its code at vuthis.com/r. Choose the device that is convenient for the room.

Can I show PowerPoint on TV without an HDMI cable?

Export the deck as a PDF, connect your laptop at vuthis.com/r and select the exported file in Document. Your controlling laptop turns the pages through the browser.

Does the laptop need to be on the TV’s Wi-Fi?

No shared Wi-Fi pairing is needed. The laptop and display both need internet access and can use different networks.

Keep the workflow for next time

Your phone stays available for messages, other pictures and everything else.

Open vuthis.com on the TV to get going. Connect your phone, pick the pictures and show them. There is no app to install and no shared Wi-Fi pairing to arrange.

See the pictures first

The display shows the content you choose rather than a live copy of your phone. That makes the workflow useful for a family slideshow, a trip recap, a club gathering or pictures you want everyone around the table to see.

Use Fit when the whole picture matters. Use Fill when you want an edge-to-edge display. Turn on Slideshow when the pictures should change automatically.

The quick walkthrough

Open vuthis.com in the TV's browser.

Scan the displayed QR code with your phone. A laptop or tablet can connect at vuthis.com/r by entering the screen code.

Choose Photos, select your pictures and tap Show now.

Change pictures with the controller, or turn Slideshow on and choose the pace.

Choose Fit or Fill to suit the pictures and the screen.

Both devices need internet access. The controller and display can use different networks, which is useful when the screen is already connected and your phone uses another connection.

Keep it ready for the next gathering

Keep the photo slideshow instructions somewhere easy to find. When you next want a larger view, open the display page and connect again.

The same browser controller can show a PDF, a large message or a timer. That makes the route useful beyond a single photo session: a travel plan at home, slides at a meeting, or a worksheet in a classroom can use the same connection steps.

Keep the visual walkthrough

The free illustrated handbook covers photos, PDFs, presentation slides and more. It shows the screen result before the instructions, and the handbook itself is a PDF you can use to try the document display workflow.

Can I show photos on TV without screen mirroring?

Yes. Choose the pictures in V U This and show that selected content on the display. Other phone activity stays on your own device.

Can I run the photo slideshow from a laptop?

Yes. Open vuthis.com/r on a laptop or tablet, enter the screen code and choose Photos. Both devices need internet access; they can use different networks.

The next screen starts at vuthis.com. Open it on the TV, connect and choose what everyone sees.

Open vuthis.com on the screen to get going. There is no app to install and no HDMI cable from your controlling phone or laptop.

Show a PDF on TV: the quick walkthrough

Open V U This in the TV browser. For a projector, use its browser or a browser on the computer already driving it.

Scan the on-screen QR code with your phone. Alternatively, open vuthis.com/r on a laptop or tablet and enter the screen code.

Choose Document, select your PDF and tap Show now.

Use Previous and Next on the controller to move through the document.

The display shows the document rather than a live copy of your phone or desktop. Your controlling device and the display do not need to share a Wi-Fi network; both need internet access.

Slides or a tall document? Choose the view

Fit page keeps the complete page visible: a useful starting point for a slide, diagram, agenda or poster.

Fit width makes a tall page easier to read on a wide display. Previous and Next move through it a screenful at a time. Change the view while the PDF is on screen.

PowerPoint on TV without plugging in your laptop

Export the presentation as a PDF first. PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides can all produce one. Then follow the same Document steps and use your phone as the page controller.

This route shows the exported pages. Choose it when the room needs the slides, proposal or handout and you want to get started quickly.

Use the screen already in the room

In a meeting room, show the agenda or proposal and turn pages from your seat. In a classroom or workshop, put the worksheet on the projector and move around while explaining it. At home, make a recipe, travel plan or set of instructions readable from the sofa.

You can also control the display from a laptop at vuthis.com/r. A phone is an option, not a requirement.

Can I put a PDF on a projector from my laptop?

Yes. Open vuthis.com on the browser display or the computer already driving the projector. Open vuthis.com/r on your controlling laptop, enter the display code and choose the PDF. The controlling laptop does not need an HDMI connection.

Can I present when the devices use different Wi-Fi networks?

Yes. Both devices need internet access, but they do not need to share a Wi-Fi network. Connect with the display's code or QR code.

Keep the instructions for next time
